Elizabeth Taylor - Wedding #2

Last week, I wrote about Elizabeth Taylor's first wedding to Conrad 'Nicky' Hilton. Her first marriage lasted just shy of one year, but her second marriage spanned five years and two children.

It was a far more subdued affair than her first trip down the aisle, but Taylor looked just as beautiful. She married artist and actor Michael Wilding on February 21, 1952 in a civil ceremony in London.





I love the smart dress with the bold contrasting collar. The plunging neckline is particularly eye-catching without being revealing (for 1952). I love LOVE 3/4 length sleeves, with the elegant gloves. And the little spray of flowers in her hair manage to say that she's a bride without the white dress. As always, the groom has it easy - all he needs is a tailored suit and a happy face to look great on his wedding day (the first of four for him!).
